AN ENCHANTING WINTER WEDDING AT OXLEAZE BARN, COTSWOLDS
As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing love stories at an array of Cotswolds wedding venues, all of which are recognised for their unparalleled beauty. One of which is Oxleaze Barn, a setting where rustic charm collides with stripped-back, organic luxury. And when Meghan and Craig approached me to capture their winter wedding, I just knew it was going to be a day to remember. With a focus on personal touches, warm colour palettes and the sheer magic that the season has to offer, it’s a joy to visit memory lane and look back upon their wedding day.
THE PERFECT SETTING FOR A WINTER WEDDING
From the moment Meghan and Craig visited Oxleaze Barn, they knew it would be the perfect setting for their winter wedding, especially as the couple could both get ready on-site. The bridal prep began at the Stable Cottage, with Louise Cawley Hair Design and RubyLou Beauty at the helm for the bride and her bridal party’s hair and make-up. Meanwhile, the groom headed to the Dutch Barn with his groomsmen, just a stone’s throw away from the main venue itself.
LOVE IS SWEET: HONEY BEE MOTIFS
A subtle yet significant theme throughout their celebration was the bee motif (a nod to how they first met on Bumble), showcased throughout their styling, including golden bees that adorned their cake. To make their celebration even more meaningful, their table names were inspired by the couple’s love for Formula One. Craig passed on his passion for F1 to Meghan, so much so that the couple decided to make their grand entrance into the reception to the iconic Formula One track theme song. The delicate twinkle of fairy-lights illuminated their reception, carefully entwined around the venue’s wooden beams, adding to the enchantment of the season.
AN INDULGENT FEAST FOR A WINTER WEDDING
Meghan and Craig wanted to provide their friends and family with something hearty and comforting to align with the season. The team at Peach & Pudding served up a feast, including mouth-watering pie and mash dinner, followed by a crowd-pleasing sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The bride has a self-confessed obsession for Emma Bridgewater (which is a statement feature in the couple’s homes), so when she discovered the catering company used Emma Bridgewater crockery, she instantly booked the team for their wedding.
The newlyweds chose to dance to Please Keep Loving Me by James TW for their first dance – a song they both adore! Having seen James TW live not once but twice, it’s no surprise that they had their hearts set on the soundtrack for this tradition.
A LUXURY OXLEAZE BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, it was a joy to be able to capture the warmth, romance and magic of Meghan and Craig’s winter wedding at Oxleaze Barn. The wedding venue features a huge selection of beautiful backdrops for photographs, all of which were perfect for not only the traditional group shots but the couple portraits too. I whisked the couple away from their party to make the most of the enchanting winter weather and the array of settings on offer.
Just a little reminder to enquire if you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the Cotswold to capture your celebration in the luxuriously authentic way. My diary for 2025 has a handful of spaces left, while 2026 dates are now available to secure. In the meantime, follow my Instagram for even more love story snippets.
