When I first picked up a second-hand camera, I knew I had a mountain to climb. And honestly? It felt completely overwhelming. I quickly realised that being a great photographer was just one part of the puzzle.
If I wanted to build a real business, I had to learn how to market myself, price my work, manage enquiries, edit efficiently, create a consistent brand… all while figuring out how to actually run a business (and not lose my mind in the process).
Over the years, I’ve built a wedding photography business from the ground up—one I’m incredibly proud of. I’m now fully booked every year with weddings I once dreamed of photographing, not only across the UK but internationally too. Most importantly, I’ve built it in a way that works around my real life. With a husband who also runs his own business and two teenage girls, I’ve designed a diary that gives me freedom, time off, and regular family holidays—because otherwise, what’s the point?
