As a Luxury Berkshire Wedding Photographer, when Allie and Rob’s enquiry landed in my inbox, I just knew this was going to be an occasion to remember. The couple envisioned a beautiful wedding day with a black and white colour palette, embracing timeless touches and minimalist décor. And when I quickly discovered the setting for celebration was The Post Barn, you can bet I was beyond excited. This contemporary barn wedding venue in Berkshire offers a modern countryside approach. Allie and Rob initially met in their early twenties. Eventually coming together as a couple when the timing was right. They have since been together for over seven years and on Allie’s birthday last year, Rob surprised her with the perfect proposal at home. It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to capture their wedding day. To be immersed in the joy and happiness that surrounded the couple as a Berkshire wedding photographer.

AND SO, THE BRIDAL PREPARATIONS BEGAN

Allie spent the morning getting ready at the Donnington Valley Hotel. A sister venue to The Post Barn, with her triplet sisters and another bridesmaid by her side. The couple’s adorable daughter, Ottilie, was flower girl and her presence added an extra element of joy and sweetness to the day. It was clear that this wedding was all about family, where the couple were spoilt with close friends and family. The bride-to-be looked radiant in a lace-adorned wedding dress. With her hair in a classic up-do—styled to perfection by the talented Jo Stringer. Allie carried a bridal bouquet brimming with blousy, pillow-soft ivory blooms by Lily & Wild, which acted as the finishing touch to her aisle style. Meanwhile, her bridesmaids looked chic in modern black gowns. The groom looked handsome in a statement midnight blue suit – which perfectly popped against their colour palette.

This sophisticated couple opted for a classic black and white wedding theme. The details peppered throughout their wedding day were as gorgeous as they were personal. With floral arrangements by Lily & Wild elevating their event, one petal at a time. Velvet-soft white roses paired with lots of leafy greenery curated the perfect atmosphere, with elegance at every turn. They displayed the flower-filled centerpieces at both the ceremony and reception, creating a beautiful aesthetic throughout the day. They used black acrylic lettering for each guest’s place name and wedding favours, tying in seamlessly with their modern-meets-timeless vibe.

AN EVENING OF DANCING & MEMORY-MAKING

One of the most memorable parts of Allie and Rob’s wedding day was their entrance to the wedding breakfast. Guests stood up as the newlyweds walked in, swinging their napkins while creating an electric atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. As the incredible Club Kudo began their set, the saxophonist and drummer added to the celebrations. Allie and Rob filled the dance-floor all night long, enjoying classic dance anthems with their loved ones. They decorated their two-tier white wedding cake with their initials in black, using the same font as their on-the-day stationery. It was the epitome of modern elegance, perfectly reflecting the couple’s style.

Although their wedding day was ridiculously beautiful, it was the emotion, support and sheer happiness surrounding Allie and Rob that made this occasion unforgettable.
