Countryside summer weddings at The Post Barn
A Summer wedding here at The Post Barn is a dream for any wedding photographer! A truly beautiful countryside wedding venue centered around a stunning contemporary oak barn with gorgeous grounds showing off the views for miles!!
Immaculately & thoughtfully styled summer wedding
Shaun & Kirsty’s wedding was so thoughtfully & immaculately styled, very much incorporating their own personalities and their family’s history. They designed the centerpieces and the bouquets to include ribbon matching Kirsty’s Dad’s tartan and included thistles in the bouquets and buttonholes as a nod towards Kirsty’s Scottish roots. The Post Barn was also filled with the most amazing, huge sunflowers which were perfect for a July countryside wedding.
A true office romance
Shaun & Kirsty worked together, alongside each other in the same team in the Met Office. Shaun was given the task of training Kirsty, who herself admits to knowing absolutely nothing about the job at the time!! So in effect, Shaun taught her everything she knows (about IT!!).
Their initial workplace friendship turned into a not-very well-hidden relationship. In fact, if you would have asked any of their colleagues, they all presumed they had been together much longer than they had!
Then it was the romantic proposal
Unfortunately, the proposal wasn’t as beautifully planned as Shaun would have liked. Which COVID takes the full blame for!
In the end, 2 years after Shaun had bought the ring, he finally managed to propose to Kirsty on a stunning private beach in Crete, on their much-delayed holiday.
When people ask if their wedding was delayed because of COVID, Kirsty simply replies “no, but the engagement was!!”. The longest, but best kept secret!!
