A LITERARY-INSPIRED LOVE STORY AT THE POST BARN, BERKSHIRE
The Post Barn, Berkshire is a modern barn wedding venue and is admittedly, a personal favourite of mine. It’s light and airy, yet still maintains the coveted charm that traditional barn wedding venues have to offer. So, when Amy and Luke’s enquiry landed in my inbox for an April wedding at this modern Berkshire wedding venue, I couldn’t wait for their date to roll around, ready with my camera in hand.
Amy, a self-proclaimed bookwork, infused their wedding day with endless thoughtful literary details that reflected her adoration for reading. Paired with a forest green colour palette and multi-coloured accents in the form of flowers. You can be sure that their celebration was a heartfelt blend of personality and elegance of course with a backdrop that would make anyone weak at the knees. Let’s look back at Amy and Luke’s literary-inspired love story at The Post Barn, Berkshire, where I had the huge honour of documenting their day as it unfolded.
THE POST BARN, BERKSHIRE – WHERE EVERY DETAIL COUNTS
The most memorable wedding days seem to be the ones that reflect the couple and everything that defines them. Amy and Luke wove various elements of their personalities and shared loves throughout their event. The bride in particular delved into the world of creativity when it came to the décor and styling – details that I felt were hugely important to capture.
Each table was named after a Star Wars planet. With their sweetheart table fittingly named, ‘Naboo’ – the planet where Padmé and Anakin were married. As guests were guided to their seats, they were greeted with beautiful bookmark wedding favours that had been carefully handcrafted by Amy. Doubling up as both favours and name tags. When it came to their table styling, old books, stem vases and napkin rings lovingly made with dried orange and eucalyptus by the bride further, elevated the ambience of their day. Amy even created her own confetti, drawing upon her adoration for reading by recreating cones using the pages of various books. A whimsical yet eco-friendly addition to their wonderful day.
For their wedding flowers, Karen Harrison worked her floral magic. Designing two wildly romantic flower-filled columns that elegantly framed the couple’s vows. Following their ceremony, the two columns were then transported behind the sweetheart table during the reception. Offering Amy and Luke the perfect backdrop to wine and dine as they watched their guests craft memories in front of them.
SOMETHING SWEET FOR THEIR LOVE STORY
Their wedding cake featured two tiers adorned with vibrant, fresh florals and a statement cake topper to add that final finishing touch. In addition, they also spoilt their friends and family with a ‘help yourself’ sweet treat station. Where guests could tuck in and enjoy a selection of delicious delights. Meanwhile, the mezzanine level of The Post Barn, Berkshire, was transformed into a cosy board games area, inviting loved ones to relax while playing games. For an extra touch of entertainment, they even included a personalised crossword puzzle. Moreover, Party Delights provided a stylish photo booth for guests to make the most of, infusing their evening with a playful feel
From the handcrafted bookmarks to the Star Wars-inspired tables. Every intricate detail of Amy and Luke’s wedding day effortlessly reflected their journey together, not to mention their personalities as individuals and as a couple. And with The Post Barn’s stylish, light-filled spaces, it really was a pleasure to capture their wedding day here. As a Berkshire wedding photographer, weddings like Amy and Luke’s remind me why I truly love what I do.
